The HADIA Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation that helps create self sustainable communities by providing humanitarian assistance in the areas of health, education, sport and development. With its headquarters in Australia, the Foundation operates in underdeveloped countries.
We are mostly a volunteer-run and managed organisation that believes in the collective power of community to make a difference.
Our volunteers, staff and directors bring a wide range of skills and experience including in community development, governance, development finance services, policy, marketing, and IT.
The backgrounds of our volunteers, staff and directors reflect the diversity of the world.
We have no political, religious or other affiliations.
We are a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits commission.
The Foundation focuses on health, education, sport and fostering economic self-sustainability. Our current flagship programs include the provision of prosthetic limbs to landmine victims, and the operation of Afghanistan's first and largest mobile library, delivering books to children in need.
We seek to facilitate and help finance practical, community-based and community-run initiatives in by:
Accessing resources provided by philanthropic organisations.
Sourcing and reconditioning second-hand equipment, medical devices, sporting goods and other materials
Arranging for resources to be shipped and distributed.
Supporting the provision of humanitarian services by our “on-the-ground” volunteers in the countries we operate.
As a mostly volunteer organisation, we don’t have the operating costs of other charities—all the donations we receive go directly to improving the lives of people in underdeveloped and war-torn countries.
HADIA Foundation actively supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations to be achieved by 2030. SDGs focus on systematic transformation of our world for the better. HADIA's disability and mobile library projects directly and indirectly help the following SDGs:
SDG 1: NO POVERTY
SDG 2: ZERO HUNGER
SDG 3: GOOD HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
SDG 4: QUALITY EDUCATION
SDG 5: GENDER EQUALITY
